The Brewery

Øster Løgum Bryghus is a hobby brewery, set up in the former waterworks here in Øster Løgum. We strive to produce good beer with the highest possible quality, and continuously update processes and equipment to promote this. We are currently 7 active and 2 passive brewers. It is important to us that we have a good social community.

Our brewery guild started little by little in 2007. The first years by the brewers, a little in turn. It fills and did not cause wild cheers to the family, everyone was so happy when in 2012 it became possible to acquire the disused waterworks here in Øster Løgum. We are an association and each have a share in our brewery, and pay a fixed monthly fee to secure the fixed costs.

We hold brewers evenings as needed, where we plan new brews, adaptation or purchase of equipment and then just cozy togetherness. Of course there is also sometimes some practical work that needs to be done so if it can not be reached on Wednesday we will find time for it, usually a Saturday.
We can, with the brewing equipment we have right now, brew 320 liters per brew, and we brew approx. every 6 weeks, but not always full brew. Under-fermented beer must be fermented in our cellar where we can use 3 x 150 liter stainless fermentation tanks, requires that it is relatively cool as we do not have cooling beyond the whims of nature, ie. November to March.

We try to hold annual events to promote unity in the local area. We hold beer tastings and combinations thereof, usually in collaboration with other hand brewers in the south and Southern Jutland.

Everyone is welcome to drop in when we brew, to see how beer brewing takes place and get inspiration to get started brewing beer yourself. See in Breewers Calender when we are here. If necessary, contact one of the brewers if you have questions about the brewing process. Contact information can be found on this website.
